In depth

  • Add, remove, and rearrange up to 16 modules in one single instance of the plugin, tailoring your own EQ plugin.
  • 5 SonEQ modules to choose from:
    • Low band Module: Similar to one of the most famous analog EQs, the low-frequency controls consist of two filters that work interactively. One boosts lows while the other attenuates. Choose from 4 center frequencies: 20, 30, 60, and 100 Hz.
    • Low-Mid band Module: this band is a bell filter ranging from 45 Hz to 4000 Hz with a generally soft and very musical sound. Engage the HiQ to use the band for a “surgical” treatment.
    • High-Mid band Module: Ranging from 400 Hz to 9000 Hz, the high-mid band features a larger bandwidth and smoothly shaped bell, making it ideal for this type of frequency equalization.
    • High Module: taking inspiration from a variety of equalizers famous for their ability to apply a soft and silky sheen to the audio material. SonEQ2’s high boost is great for adding a natural “air” to an individual instrument or an entire mix.
    • Preamp Module: clean and add warmth to the signal using the filters and drive from the preamp module.

Testimonials

“I could have an instance of SonEQ2 on one track, where I customized the modules for a specific EQ detail, then on the track below it soely for creative sound design. Then a 3rd instance using only the preamp section for some classic colouring. It’s so much more than only an EQ. It’s a brilliant creative tool.”

Marlon GibbonsMarlon Gibbons, Composer

“Very analog pultec kinda vibe. Love what the drive button does and the eq is smooth. Nice coloration. Loving the modular ideas and I can be super creative with multiple preamps. That wow button is on the master all the time haha.”

Matthew SimMatthew Sim, Sound Engineer

“I’ve been testing out the SonEQ2 for the past weeks and it has proved to work on anything you use it on.  In fact, it sounds so good that it now lives on my Master Bus.”

Nacho MolinoNacho Molino, Sound Engineer

“The SonEQ2 is great! I love the interchangeable module feature to
change the signal flow. The EQ is gentle and smooth even at higher
gains. The drive adds some analog warmth to sound and depth. I’m
enjoying using this on mixes. Well done, Sonimus!”

Sam SherbinSam Sherbin, Sound Engineer

“This eq was an instant integration into my workflow. The low end is big but controlled. Top end is solid, it always works. But wow, the mid range is the best in any eq I’ve ever used. Hands down. Same with the filters. Extremely musical. The drive in the preamp section is subtle and useable on every source I put it on. It’s replaced the eq on my drum buss and lives in the ITB “summing section” in my sessions for both subtle, final eq moves and that beautiful drive that glues the tracks together.”
