A-Console is the new console emulation from Sonimus. Many Britson and Satson users over on the forums and groups have been asking for this new addition for a long time, looking to get a classic and punchy Automated Process sound combined with the Sonimus approach that has made the company so well known in the market.

Sonimus’ team, inspired by the vision of creating the highest possible quality professional audio tools, has been working tirelessly on A-Console. Their target has been a product that not only sounds great, but one that would also introduce a new and interesting colour onto the market.

Inspired by the vintage desk 1604, A-Console has perfectly captured the texture and sound from this successful console. The 1604 desk was commonly used as a sidecar console and is deeply embedded in the history of studios like Sunset Sound and Ocean Way in California. With its “upside-down” channel layout and use by artists like Willie Nelson and U2, the original small footprint desk was originally manufactured in the 1970’s and has continued its great reputation since. An updated design, the 1608, was released by the original American company in 2008.

Sonimus’ initial idea was to translate the sound of the 1608 into their newest console emulation, but it wasn’t until they found and tested the 1604 design that they found the sound and texture they were looking for all along. It really brought that ‘something special’ to the table, with its iconic sonic character and punch from the classic American gear. If you like the sound from vintage consoles, this emulation is for you. Great sound, and loads of punch that works wonders on guitars, bass and drums.

A-Console brings all the classic features from Sonimus’ console emulations with its channel and Buss modules, with a newer look and some extra ingredients added to the mix — including the long awaited oversampling and M1 compatibility for MacOS users. The new UI makes the plug-in easier to operate, especially the groups in the master Buss component, creating a more natural workflow to adjust the volumes or saturation from each channel or group.

This plug-in starts a new chapter in Sonimus’ history, opening the door for future products and updates from your favourite Sonimus plug-ins — Stay Tuned!
